This recipe was originally developed as an applesauce substitute to accompany latkes during Hanukkah, but this condiment also can accompany any dish that calls for that sauce.

Gingered Korean Pear Sauce
Ingredients
1 Korean pear, peeled and grated1 teaspoon (5 ml.) ginger, grated
1 tablespoon (15 ml.) butter
2 tablespoons (30 ml.) brown sugar
1 tablespoon (15 ml.) lemon juice
1 teaspoon (5 ml.) orange or lemon zest
Directions
- Put all the items in a bowl and mix to combine.
- If you have leftover pear sauce after your guests have gone home, you can use it on pancakes, French toast or ice cream.

I taught my mom how to make your sauce and she was so impress. It makes me feel so great about my cooking skill although in the end I admitted that I just copied your recipe.
